Urban Waxx NW 18th

I waxed religiously before I moved across the country and went back to shaving for a long time due to cost and time. I was finally over it, and booked with Urban Waxx. Janelle was so patient with my nervous babbling, had a wonderful conversation even when I overshared a ton, and she did an incredible job on my wax. It was genuinely of the least painful waxes I’ve ever had. I am super smooth and I feel wonderful. Thank you Janelle!

Good afternoon, I have been a client at Urban Waxx on 18th Avenue in Portland, Oregon since I moved to Portland three years ago. I have always enjoyed going to Urban Waxx on 18th Avenue because the estheticians and front of the house hosts are extremely friendly and kind. I have always loved how my brows were done and even loved the mimosa and sweet treats prior to my appointment. I also enjoyed purchasing skin care products and even accessories. Originally, I decided not to write this negative review and just forget all about Urban Waxx, however, I changed my mind. Urban Waxx has lost me as a customer because on Saturday ,a few weeks I made an honest mistake and forgot my appointment was on Saturday not Sunday. I had read the cancellation policy and have always made my appointments except the time I had to cancel because I was bitten by a dog. Three years of steady business and a dedicated client have been lost because I was charged $14.00. Also, I have always given a generous gratuity because as a waitress for many years I think it's important to reward great service. I requested my $14.00 be refunded, however, they have yet to contact me. I am writing this review primarily so Urban Waxx reconsiders their cancellation policy. I care about Urban Waxx and I would dislike them losing more dedicated customers. From now on I will get my eyebrows done at the Brow Bar in Macy's. They do a wonderful job as I discovered, are kind and friendly like Urban Waxx. They even give you a cooling eye mask and use a different, but equally wonderful wax.They do NOT charge for cancellations although they don't offer mimosas. I'll make my own at home :). In closing I will miss me favorite esthetician, Stephanie B. and the front of the house hosts. I am requesting that they refund my $14.00 to my credit card on file.
